Raccoon Valley Electric Cooperative (RVEC) is more than an electric utility—we are a member-owned cooperative guided by a unique set of values. These values are known as the Seven Cooperative Principles, and they shape everything we do, from daily operations to long-term decisions.

RVEC membership is open to anyone who can use our services and is willing to accept the responsibilities of membership. We welcome all individuals without discrimination based on gender, social status, race, political, or religious differences.
RVEC is governed by its members. You have a voice in how your cooperative operates through voting and participation. Our board of directors is elected by members and represents your interests—because here, it’s one member, one vote.
Members contribute to the financial strength of the cooperative and share in its success. Any margins (profits) are allocated back to members as capital credits, based on their use of the cooperative.
RVEC is an independent, self-help organization controlled by its members. Even when we partner with other organizations or secure funding, we maintain local control and decision-making authority.
We are committed to keeping our members, employees, and communities informed. RVEC provides education and training to ensure everyone understands the benefits of cooperative membership and can actively participate.
