Its program designed to help members facing financial hardship.
Funded through voluntary member contributions, the program provides aid to those struggling to pay their electric bills, ensuring families in need can maintain essential service.
By supporting RECare, members directly contribute to strengthening the community and caring for neighbors during difficult times.
At Raccoon Valley Electric Cooperative (RVEC), we believe in neighbors helping neighbors. That’s why we offer RECare, a member-funded program that provides critical assistance to fellow co-op members in need.
RECare provides funding to local community action agencies, which distribute support to eligible RVEC members.
To be eligible for RECare assistance, RVEC members must apply through their local community action agency for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Even if your income exceeds the LIHEAP guidelines, you still must apply—RECare funds cannot be distributed without approval from a community action agency.
